Dr.-Ing. Thorsten Büker (managing partner of quattron and VIA-Con) and Daniel Meurer (engineer from quattron and VIA-Con) and Madeleine van Hövell (engineer from quattron and VIA-Con) have published the article “Capacity determination for subnetworks under variation of routing and infrastructure scenarios” in the April issue of Eisenbahntechnischen Rundschau (www.eurailpress.de/etr).
In this paper, the authors present a multi-stage approach for the determination of feasible paths for subnetworks under linear optimisers and consideration of different routings. A considerable advantage of this model is that different routings per relation as well as an overlapping of different relations on a sub-network can be modelled. This procedure is particularly suitable if there are many mutual train path exclusions on a network area.
