Implementation of the DAB+ Standard

For several years, quattron has been responsible for all network modification measures for the implementation of the digital DAB+ standard for one of the major German broadcasters. This task involves the acquisition of sites, the planning and management of the conversion through to the management of suppliers and contractual partners.

The following services are provided, specifically:

• Identification of potential radio sites and preparation of a site-specific feasibility assessment 
• Creation of an associated catalog of measures for each location 
• Communication with the site owner and associated municipality regarding the necessary approvals and permits 
• Contract negotiations with site owners and local authorities
• Legal coordination on property matters
• Contract and property management
• Structural inspections at the radio sites to explore technically possible implementation variants 
• Creation of implementation parameters according to client specifications for the implementation of the project (task definition, schedule, necessary budget, outflow of funds, description of necessary work packages) 
• Preparation and initiation of the structural analysis calculation
• Creation of specifications for the tendering of the necessary trades (antennas, crossovers, transmitter system, satellite reception systems, civil engineering, steel construction, electrical engineering etc.) 
• Management of the tender, evaluating the tender results, and initiating the procurement process with the relevant client departments
• Supporting the acceptance of the operational system and handover to the transmitter operations department
• Organization and monitoring the elimination of defects 
• Preparation of associated documentation for each location 
• Coordination and organization of any necessary training measures for transmitter operation employees
